The rate per article is insulting. $1.25 per 400-word article is magnanimously offered by a few persons. This works out to 30 cents per 100 words.
Another project for article rewriting informs the freelance article writers that they will be paid only after they submit 50 articles and they should be approved before releasing the payment.
Apart from elance.com, all other online marketplaces are exploiting the freelancers. I feel very sad for the freelancers who humiliatingly accept all the inhuman conditions laid by the job providers. I wonder why the owners of these online marketplaces don't impose reasonable minimum pay rates!
